Roslindale teen held on $250,000 bail on charges he shot up Mission Hill intersection

Gun

A 17-year-old was arraigned today on charges he took a trip up to Tremont and Gurney streets on Mission Hill yesterday afternoon and began firing his P85 9mm semiautomatic handgun, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office and Boston Police report.

He didn't hit anybody in the 3 p.m. barrage, the DA's office reports, adding a Boston Juvenile Court judge set the bail on the charges of delinquency by reason of unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, possession of a firearm with a defaced serial number, unlawfully carrying a loaded firearm, unlawfully discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building and assault with a dangerous weapon.

According to police, officers alerted to the gunfire found him not long after on Terrace Street, where he allegedly attempted to elude them by playing it cool:

When the suspect noticed the officer, the suspect immediately reached down to his waistband with his left hand, and with his right hand, took out his cell phone and put it to his ear. The male continued to walk away from the officer holding his waistband with his left hand and furtively glancing over his shoulder at the officer. As other officers approached the suspect from the opposite side, the suspect ran at the officers while holding his waistband. After a brief struggle during which the suspect refused officers’ commands to show his hands, officers were able to apprehend the suspect and place him in handcuffs.

According to the DA's office, his gun still had seven rounds in its magazine and one in the chamber.

If only there we're more laws this young man would know better and abide by them.

By the time this punk has his 4th or 5th conviction I am sure the laws will be even more strict - and still doing nothing to deter criminals. More anti - constitutional laws serve only one purpose. They make liberals "feel" better.

has the right to bear arms and he should not be subjected to the anti gun hysteria whipped up by opponents of freedom. He is carrying out the freedoms intended him and all real Americans by the founding fathers. He should not be judged by an accidental discharge and by corrupt laws meant to curb our 2nd Amendment rights.

He was committing a crime by attempting to murder someone and waves his 2A rights in doing so.

When should we expect to see him back out walking around in rozzie square? The unlawful possession should mean a mandatory year in jail alone. I bet he won't do six months. my bet is he will have at least 5 illegal gun convictions before he turns 25. And the beat goes on...

for JUVENILE court?!? (faceplam) Further proof that the "juvenile justice system" is an archaic and outdated farce that should be abolished.

Yeah sure send this thuglet to adult court. He'll go before Court Judge Raymond Dougan Jr. and get a stern finger wagging directed at the police on his behalf.

That won't happen. Too many of our higher educated folks have made determinations that juveniles (under the age of 18) are not as mentally developed as those 18 years and older. Therefore, they feel they shouldn't be held to the same criminal standard.

Plus, if you get rid of the juvenile justice system a lot of hacks will be out of jobs.

Can't have it both ways. Either we have an age of adulthood, or we don't.

In a New York Minute. If the trade is giving the vote to people who won't vote in any case, and getting the dear, misguided yoot's behind bars as fast as and for as long as possible, I'll make that deal any time.

He is in juvenile court because he is a juvenile. However, he will be tried and sentenced as an adult.
