Police: Man brought a rifle to a fistfight, but officers arrived before he could use it
Boston Police report that officers on bicycle patrol in Dorchester Monday evening were alerted to a fight on Columbia Road, just off Blue Hill Avenue.
As officers proceeded to the scene, they received a description of an individual involved in the altercation. Officers located this individual and observed him with what appeared to be a large firearm concealed under his overcoat. After speaking with the suspect, a canvass of the area allowed officers to locate a .22 caliber lever-action rifle near his person.
Donald Pinckney, 24, of Dorchester, was charged with carrying a rifle or shotgun in a public way, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawfully carrying a dangerous weapon and unlawful possession of ammunition.
