Jury convicts man for home invasion, double rape in Allston

A Suffolk Superior Court jury has convicted Marcos Colono, 36, of Cambridge, of breaking into an Allston apartment at knifepoint, binding the two women inside with extension cords, then raping and robbing them in 2008, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.

The Commonwealth Avenue case had gone unsolved until 2010, when Colono was arrested for a Cambridgeport home invasion in which he was charged with beating a man and his son; DNA from that case matched DNA found in the Allston apartment.

Colono, who served as his own attorney, will be sentenced on July 10 for the four counts of aggravated rape, two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon and single counts of home invasion and armed burglary, the DA's office says.

Won't get any disagreement from me. Sometimes decent people make mistakes and wind up on the wrong side of the law. And then others are monsters who should probably never breathe free air again.

Any guy with such a criminal record (i. e. violent home invasion, raping 2 young women at knife point, or other violent crimes.) as this guy has, belongs behind bars, for a long, long time. Here's hoping he gets tried, sentenced and locked up before he seriously injures another person, or possibly even kills somebody.

it's a monster. It should be executed.

When any suspect (who is not a lawyer) acts as their own attorney you know they are always guilty.

I respectfully disagree with that.
