As Olympics get closer, Red Line service gets grosser

Oh, hey, it's Friday rush hour, so naturally a Red Line train got out a couple of old tokens to pay the ferryman, down at JFK/UMass, and now the entire line has slowed to a crawl and riders are grumbling the inevitable cracks about imagining what service will be like during the Olympics.

Little do the racketeers known as the IOC know that the sentence, "Boston is a walkable city" has little to do with geography and more to do with the quality of our subway system.

Can we get 'train pushing' instituted as an official sport?

Was an Olympic sport early on.

Yes. In 1904 the US swept the podium.

Combine this with elements of Fox's Man vs Beast (especially the little people pulling an elephant, I kid you not) and you have Man vs Red Line.

Maybe we have human powered service all Olympics long! "Next Stop Kendall/MIT, MIT Cambridge Center. You will be pushed there by Team New Zealand."

Adam - you raise the local popular language with your wit. At least if the Olympics does descend upon our fair village by the bay you will have a plenitude of puns and a wealth of witticisms to regale our royally screwed urbi et Bostoniana.
