Who says nobody ever does anything about the weather? Man with conviction sues Jim Cantore over thundersnow reports

Cantore Thundersnow Montage! - #ItsAmazingOutThere

Wayne Richard Albright, a convicted sex offender, claims he got offended himself while watching Jim Cantore get all hyper and screamily excited in Plymouth due to repeated lightning flashes during one of our February storms.

So Albright, currently a resident of the State Correctional Institution in Benner Township, PA, sued - for some reason, in US District Court in Boston. Albright is "humbly" asking a judge there to issue a temporary restraining order to prevent Cantore from doing any more snow jigs - and to keep Al Roker from finding such dances amusing, at least on air.

Jim Cantore was celebrating during one of his weather updates a freak occurrence known as Thundersnow on national TV, while millions of viewers watched in horror. His behavior at that moment was a poor example of professionalism and should not be stood for. Countless lives were lost during this freak weather occurrence and millions of others suffered other losses as a result, and this man we've all come to know and respect is celebrating. I personally find Mr. Cantore's behavior unacceptable.

Hank Hill would say, "That's just asinine."

Countless lives were lost during this freak weather occurrence

Actually I think you could probably count them quite easily.

A language offender as well as a sex offender, and in the wonderful world of Internet pedants, we all know which is the worse crime.

NO ONE talks shit about Jim Cantore.

No. One.

Jim's a buffoon.
I like interesting weather events, but he's a obnoxious loudmouth in this case.

Just report. The histrionics are theater to awaken the brain-dead TV viewers for the ads.

I can literally count the number of deaths I've heard of on one hand.

Apparently Albright's hands are busy.

Don't like Cantore's behavior. Then don't watch him.

Of course, given this guy's in JAIL, the fact he's allowed to watch The Weather Channel at all is another matter.

Having to watch the Weather Channel all day ever day seems like a reasonable punishment.

When a necessary public service like weather forecasting turns into a ratings generating entertainment spectacle like this one with Jim Cantore.

Its weather. It happens. Lets not have public orgasms over it.

Don't you ever get excited over things other people think are boring? All I see from his reaction is genuine excitement over a fairly novel weather phenomenon caught on film. The guy's a WEATHER MAN. Weather is his job. I think it's pretty cool that he can get so excited over it and I'll be honest - the two times I've witnessed thunder snow, I was pretty impressed and went outside to see if it would happen again.

The genuine excitement comes at contract renewal time, when his ratings have been shown to have gone up.

Like bad journalism, hyperbole, goofy graphics, sexism (on many TV stations).

But this ain't one of them.

I don't understand why inmates are allowed luxuries such as TV. Let them get their news from the paper the following day.

They've been removed from society for a reason, and shouldn't be enabled to participate until they've been "reformed".

Give them just enough to stop them from rioting.

That is "cruel and unusual punishment".

I imagine it's less about the "luxury" and more about the stupefying effect of a glowing idiot box on groups of potentially volatile inmates. You'd think that the Weather Channel would be a knockout for stupefaction, between the repetition and the muzak, but I guess there's a different stroke for everyone. So to speak. Anyway, I'm sure it's not about "getting the news" - it's almost certainly more about crowd control.

Remove cable TV from the prison.

He should be legally required to change his name after this.

If this man understood what "acceptable behavior" is, he wouldn't be in prison.

I get that it's "weird news", but this isn't this guy's first rodeo.

I think this guy knows what he's doing and is attempting to gain attention (that we're giving him) by getting into the "weird news" column as much as possible until he creates his own meme essentially.

So don't report it, then.

That was in large part because of Jim Cantore. I was the dork that watched the weather channel when everyone else was watching, well, I don't know. Maybe MTV when it was almost exclusively music videos.

After watching this, I have decided that I absolutely should have stuck to that plan. I have never been even remotely that excited about anything in this foolish profession as Cantore was in those clips. Good for him. I like it when people enjoy their jobs and I envy all of you.
