Does anyone know why in the year 2016 we have separate but equal lodges for blacks and whites?

Does anyone know why in the year 2016 there are Masons at all? What is this, Middle Earth?

Because we secretly run the world as part of a vast conspiracy and keep the space aliens under wraps.

The Grand Lodge of Massachusetts is not whites/non-blacks only, for one thing, so "separate but equal" isn't accurate. There was a proposal 20-odd years ago when the Grand Lodges began to formally recognize each other's existence that the two Grand Lodges merge, but the Prince Hall Grand Lodge rejected it.

Is there really a market for a conference center and hotel in a neighborhood 5 miles from downtown and not near good transit options?

Many of my close relatives have all come to visit Prince Hall from the South and Midwest.

I am sure they would have loved to stay at a hotel on site.

Make it happen.

Why is this property exempted from property taxes?
