Jerk in Walpole leaves note to explain why he or she is a jerk

Letter from moron in Walpole who keeps stealing somebody's Trump sign

Somebody in Walpole who supports Donald Trump put up a Trump sign. It got stolen. He put up another one. Got stolen, too. Put up a third one - but like 10 feet up. It got stolen, too, but this time the thief felt compelled to leave a note explaining why he or she keeps stealing the signs. Kevin Connolly provides the photo.

Ed. note: Morons complaining about the stupidity of others should probably proofread their complaints first.

A) Trump sucks.

B) This guy sucks and if caught should be forced to display all the stolen signs on his property.

That is all.

I see no purpose in stealing signs, either.

How else are you supposed to tip off your batter when you're running at second base?

enabling the whining going on out there in wingnutland. The signs are useful in establishing and verifying who the neighborhood nut jobs are. Almost like a Trump nut registry.

It's not a public service to hide idiots' self-identification from the public. Let them put up their signs. Actually, encourage them to get Trump tattoos.

They should just have to wear a patch, somewhere preferably obvious like their sleeves. And since Trump likes to gild all of the things with his name on it, the patch should obviously be golden in color.

Everybody has idiotic moments, but the amount of forethought and effort involved in obtaining and installing a political sign argues that the indicated condition is not momentary. I didn't say to forcibly tattoo them, and if they voluntarily get a Trump tattoo, they look even more like lifelong idiots.

which is precisely why I suspect that it was another Trump supporter who "stole" the signs. Perhaps it is even the original owner of the signs him/herself who is responsible for the whole thing.

The whole episode has now gone viral, which was the plan all along. As George Costanza famously said, "Well played, Mr. Peanut."

You really think this will make somebody vote for Trump? This isn't changing my mind on whom I'll be voting for, just makes me annoyed that there's Yet Another Moron out there.

I think that this it is the kind of thing that gets "soft" Trump supporters off the couch on election day. I'm talking about people like the folks down the street from this guy, who think that Hillary Clinton is "in on the scam" and that things really are "rigged" (in the Trumpian sense, not the Sanders sense, and for those who can't tell the difference, I am not going to waste my time explaining it), but who otherwise have some reservations about Trump that stop them from getting out to vote.

All some of these people need is some hint that "maybe Hillary's people are behind this" to flip from soft supporters to firm supporters. Trump knows this, and that's (in my opinion) why he is circling back to Thug Lewandowski's "Let' Trump be Trump" methodology which uses this kind of innuendo as its primary tool.

This is also why I agree with the notion put forth by the Harvard Republicans that this man is a real threat to the Republic. This sort of rhetoric reminds me a lot of some of the things I have read that came out of central Europe in the late 1920s and early 1930s. That should concern everyone.

with Trump's Razor: Ascertain the stupidest possible scenario that can be reconciled with the available facts. That answer is likely correct.

Either the sign's owner -- or another Trump supporter. Letter writer does not sound like a "liberal" -- but rather a Trump supporter's fantasy of what a liberal should sound like...

Sounds like a false flag Trump attack. Wake up, sheeple!

(But seriously, it does.)

Sorry to disappoint you but I'm not a birther.

It wouldn't surprise me if he claimed Kenyan birth to gain certain Fauxcahontian-like advantages in his younger years, and we know his literary agency shopped him as such, but I'm convinced he was born in the US.

yet it is never in good form to refer to a person who supports a candidate as stupid or dim witted or low level or whatever. And it is further beyond the pale to laud your own superior intellect in their face whether real or just existing in said person's mind. I agree with Issacg's post. Right on point.

I was going to make a wise-assed comment here about how people doing things like this makes me more inclined to vote for Trump (he is currently #4 in my ranking of Presidential Candidates, beating out #3 Clinton by a comfortable margin in the back of the field.)

Part of the appeal of the Trump campaign is that other people are so insistent that Trump be stopped, and do it in boneheaded ways like stealing campaign signs and leaving pissy signs, that those who would not agree with the haters are drawn. It's like when you tell a teen-ager not to do something, your reasoning being "because I said so."

up

Or maybe some anti-Trump person actually did steal the signs and write this letter. There are certainly are idiots of all political party identification.

I know, it's a total digression, but what the hell font *is* that? It's not Comic Sans. And the periods are halfway up from the baseline. I've never seen anything like it.

... but I have no idea which one; it's not Bradley Hand, nor any of the "chalk" styles. It's likely that the writer is too "smaht" to use a spell checker and grammar checker.

With that statement, Mr. or Ms. Head-up-his-A*s just possibly created at least one more Trump supporter.

Actually, the owner should electrify the next sign for kicks and giggles.

(BTW: Not a Trump supporter).

Nah. Has comic potential, but also potential for injury.

I'd be asking all my vet and/or hunting friends what combination of chemicals (in a nice, mostly transparent, but VERY clingy ointment) I could put together to ensure the vandal is stalked by every neighborhood dog and stray cat in heat for the next 6 days.

I'm so glad that the owner of this site finds it appropriate to insult my family, even though he knows nothing about me or them.

May I ask what inspired you to engage in this level of discussion? Was it the fact that you were called a "moron" for not "proofreading prior to commenting on the stupidity of others"?

Pal, would you like me to insult your family members? I'm confident that with a few minutes of Googling, I could even identify them by their first names. Maybe I could even learn about their physical appearances and mock those; who knows? I certainly wouldn't waste my time doing so, but apparently it would be fair game in this forum. Good to know.

If you'd been around here for awhile, you'd notice I do make my share of grammatical and spelling mistakes. Normally, folks point them out and I correct them and thank them. Normally, folks don't barge right in and call me a moron right off the bat; that implies a certain intimacy with my moronness that you, sir, do not have. While I admit there's a certain glass-house aspect to me making a minor usage mistake in a sentence in which I chastise somebody else's spelling and grammar, really? Are you like that at work and at home, too? Somebody who goes around calling people morons but can't take a mild yer-mom crack perhaps needs to learn to count to ten first.

comprehension of its irony in the context of the "Ed. note" addressed to, ahem, morons, then yer mom obviously didn't pass along a very useful allotment of brain cells. I wish I hadn't impregnated her that evening I got drunk and started hooking up with overweight, unattractive women.

Ha! A "mild yer mom crack!" Am I on my way to becoming as classy and as clever as you?

And I'm voting for Gary Johnson, anyway. But anyone who infringes on another person's freedom of speech deserves the most extreme punishment available. Therefore, I am considering putting up about 20 Trump signs in the same spot to replace the one he stole.

I am a Republican who has been #NeverTrump from the jump, but what someone puts on their own property is sacrosanct. If Jim Webb had stayed in the race, I would have for the first time in my life crossed over to vote for a Democrat. But I would no more touch someone's lawn sign or bumper sticker than poke myself in the eye with a sharp stick.
