Police: Dorchester man went on armed-robbery spree north of Boston

A Dorchester man was arrested for two armed robbery attempts in Woburn - one successful - and is a suspect in several more in Somerville, Lynnfield and Stoneham, Woburn Police say.

Robert Bauer, 48, is charged with armed robbery of the Speedway convenience store, 306 Montvale Ave. on Dec. 5 and a failed armed-robbery attempt at the BP convenience store, 325 Washington St. on Dec. 9, police say.

Bauer was nabbed this evening in Boston by police from Boston, Somerville, Stoneham and Woburn, along with the State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section.

He faces arraignment in Woburn District Court on Monday on two counts of armed robbery and assault with intent to commit armed robbery, police say.
