Man charged with murder of father of two in Mattapan

UPDATE: McKinney ordered held without bail at his arraignment Monday.

Boston Police report they have arrested Jakyres McKinney, 25, today on charges he murdered Javoni Boyd, 19 (at right), at 165 Delhi St. in Mattapan on June 13.

Boyd leaves two young children, as well as numerous brothers and sisters.

McKinney is scheduled for arraignment tomorrow in Dorchester Municipal Court.

Innocent, etc.

Me and the rest of the kids on that street had a great tree house on this street.
Maybe he hid in it. It was worthy of many shenanigans including hiding from our parents

I'm confused why the suspect was arraigned in the Boston Municipal Court, Dorchester Division. That is a court of limited jurisdiction without the ability to try major crimes such as murder.

Wouldn't the proper venue to charge someone with murder be Suffolk County Superior Court?

They always do it like this: After people are arrested for murder, they're arraigned in the district court. Then the case goes to a grand jury, they're indicted and the case moves to Suffolk Superior for trial.

He had to be arraigned in the county it happened in, he will be indicted to Superior court.

Mattapan is in Suffolk County. It's in the district-court district covered by Dorchester.
