I didn't know it was Irma but when I saw the repeated lightning from one bank off-shore I noted to my neighbor that there was some serious energy there.

Makes sense now.

Started coming down hard and closed my skylights. Little later felt water splashing and thought maybe I didn't close them tight, and realized water was coming in sideways through an open window. Oops.

The sky certainly looked angry as the storm was approaching, even though it was mostly dark by that point.
