Gunfire in Dudley Square; man arrested

Transit Police report officers investigating gunfire near Dudley station around 3 p.m. on Wednesday arrested a man on a gun charge.

Police say Transit officers had just gotten a description of possible shooters and an alert that they might have run through the bus station when they spotted somebody matching one of the descriptions.

Officers stopped Jeavoni Celester-Thistle, 18, at Warren and Zeigler streets and found him in possession of a .22-caliber handgun, police say. He was charged with illegal possession of a firearm.
