Car smashed into house in Hyde Park

The Boston Fire Department reports that shortly after noon, somebody drove a Hyundai Genesis into first a light pole and then the house at 1482 Hyde Park Ave.

Both the driver and a passenger were extricated from the remains of the car and taken to a local hospital for care. Both are expected to survive.

Houses should just know that they can't "play" in traffic on major roads because it is just too dangerous! If they can't withstand cars crashing into them, they shouldn't be next to the road!

The mayor has been very clear on this:

“There’s a lot of talk about what the city is doing to make everything safer — houses need to be safer. Houses need to put their head up when they’re walking down the street, take their headphones off … you’ve got to understand, cars are going to hit you.”
