The seven arrested in Expressway melee were all adults, all from out of town

State Police have released the names of the seven men arrested in the showdown between stunters and state troopers on I-93.

They range in age from 21 to 31 and come from Randolph, Lawrence, Methuen, North Attleborough, Saugus, Worcester and Quincy. Among them: Aderito Monteiro, 28, of Randolph, who was the one shot in the foot and who was charged with negligent operation, failure to stop for police, disorderly conduct, marked lanes violation, driving an unregistered ATV and driving an uninsured ATV.

According to State Police:

Monteiro allegedly drove his ATV toward a State Trooper and Boston Police officer on the Exit 18 off-ramp to Massachusetts Avenue. He suffered a minor foot injury after a Trooper discharged his weapon during the incident. Monteiro was transported to Boston Medical Center, was treated for a small laceration to his foot, and was released the same night.

He was scheduled for arraignment today in Boston Municipal Court.

Innocent, etc.

Surprised they weren't charged with Mayhem.

Good job MSP. This won't be the last of these punks -- hopefully they keep on the case and the courts respond accordingly.

I always thought that mayhem meant cutting somebody up, not just raging around.

violent or damaging disorder; chaos.

i think if you are over 20 yrs old you should also be charged with being a loser.

It cannot be stressed enough how big of losers these morons are. Imagine spending your weekend coming from North Attleborough to Boston just because you want attention? Now imagine all of that attention is people thinking and saying, "Those pathetic losers sure are annoying".

I mean, they are morons to be sure, but this was a large group from all over the region. That they chose Boston to be morons as a group is a testament to Boston's importance to the region. Heck, morons come to Boston from other states to act moronically.

Or Sturgis?

Maybe these dudes better check them both out instead of trying to turn the streets and sidewalks of Boston into a racetrack.

As an actual motorcyclist (not whatever these tools are), I say this *entirely* not trying to defend said tools, but:
- the streets and sidewalks of Laconia and Sturgis aren't racetracks either.
- neither Laconia nor Sturgis would want these shenanigans happening on their streets.

Now that the police of gotten these clowns off the road, they're gonna start cracking down on the reckless motorists that cause chaos all over the city right?

You know all the blocking the box, double parking and such that causes traffic jams and delays emergency vehicles, right?

Hell, you might be able to catch a few cyclists with this effort.

Your instinct is right. Common law mayhem involves malicious disfigurement of victim.

No they will do whatever they want. Before 1-93, they were in Back Bay, and doing the same thing at Symphony Hall area. Look at the Lawyer he is Manuel r. Pires, real estate stealer. he works with Jose Couto Centeio money laundering, gangs.

These were not teenagers that were caught. What everyone needs to do is look at his Lawyer.
Manuel r. Pires is the guilty one.

Any accounting for the % of bikes seized that were stolen property?

I hope it's not going to take these idiots causing an innocent driver or drivers to end up in a fatal accident for their stupid "past time" to stop.

If you don't think kids from Boston were involved you're kidding yourself. No one from Boston was caught!

These kid's from out of town sure know their was around Boston neighborhoods.

First, it was more like 25-35 people, according to State Police, who I am going to assume were in a far better position to judge numbers than you or I.

Second, I have no doubt people (not kids, adults) from Boston were involved. My point, as some UHub oldtimers are no doubt sick of hearing, was to show that not everything bad that happens around here is always the fault of Boston residents.

As for knowing the streets of Boston, um, yeah, I'm going to go out on a limb and say a lot of people who live in the suburbs are familiar with our roads. It's not like we have a wall up, and it's not like you can keep going up and down and up and down the same small road behind a suburban UPS facility before you go insane and look for some big-city excitement.

Aderito Monteiro, 28, of Randolph

Suburbanite? Randolph didn't know what hit it when 'Bostonians' started moving in years ago with their 'urban' culture. The line between Boston and suburb was breached before you moved here from New York, so I'd be careful when I made a difference out of the distinction.

If you look at the history of the demographics of Randolph since about 1950, you’d know that the slogan for the town should be “it’s where you’re going to move to when you move out of Dorchester.” That’s pretty much what most suburbs are, with the only variation being the source of the people.

In short, despite your glasses of some kind of color, Randolph is the suburbs.

Pretty certain most of the B.S that happens in Boston is caused by people passing through. No matter what people Born and raised in even the 10th largest city do not act like ..unsophisticates.

I know my way around Milton, Dedham, Canton, Brockton, Randolph, Braintree, Holbrook, Needham, Newton, Cambridge, Somerville, Medford, Malden and a few other towns in and outside of MA pretty well. I have never lived or worked in any of these towns. How did all the kids from the suburbs know how to find their way around the North End to cause havoc? My cousin came to visit from Switzerland last week and made her way into Boston, went to several different places on her own and didn’t get lost. What’s got you so convinced they are Boston residents? This wouldn’t be the first time non-residents of Boston have committed crimes within city limits.

So much for the "can't get to a track in southern NH to race" whining.

I just wish these young men found a new hobby, and I have a suggestion: hobbyhorsing. As demonstrated by the reaction of the participants in the video below, it looks even more exhilarating than popping wheelies on 93 on a Saturday afternoon, and it is much less likely that the staties will bother you for it. .

This must be fake news. I listened to WRKO this morning where angry callers insisted these thugs were all from Roxbury and behaving badly because of illegal immigration. Furthermore as the talk radio callers pointed out, the police showed great restraint in not "shootin" everyone.
