Fire notes: Peterborough Street and Ladder 26

Fire officials say the Peterborough Street fire was probably caused by a short circuit in the ceiling of Thornton's and that the fatal crash of Ladder 26 was probably caused by brake failure.

makes great, good sense, and is more than likely the case, imho. There was no excuse for such poor maintenance of the BFD's fleet of trucks. It's too bad that it took the horrible death of a fireman to realize that.
