Maybe this is what happened to Curley's desk

That the Mayor is not AT his desk in any of those locations? I guess he was out fundraising.

i hope right now someone is at work with menino's empty desk at the Filene's site, crumbling Boston Common infrastructure, sleeping homeless, a T station closed at 2am as drunks fumble for their car keys, a Uhaul truck carrying recent college grads off to NYC....

Maybe Flaherty has the budget for that?

By the way - is that really Curley's desk? I'm not much for symbolism - but might be a nice touch if the next mayor put that out to pasture (maybe in a room in the Curley Mansion or Old City Hall) as a symbol of a new, more open generation in Boston politics?
