Chinatown bank robbed

The FBI reports the Sovereign Bank branch at 43 Kneeland St. was robbed around 3:50 p.m. on Monday by a guy who showed a note and motioned as if he had a gun.

Does Sovereign have any uniformed security in their places? If not, have they possibly, maybe, thought about hiring some? There has got to be something radically wrong with their personnel and/or procedures, otherwise they wouldn't be getting hit so often and so successfully. How many Sovereign branches does this make that have been robbed?

I wondered how much insurance these banks have to pay and if they end up actually losing money or not. Then I see these banks that have armed guards outside the front door. How much do they pay these guys? Does it offset the insurance and lost money costs? Most bankrobbers get off with about $500. Id say less than 10% get over $5,000 (and always less than $10,000).

I remember a few ATM robberies a while back. Larger ATMs can hold around 80K, and I remember a while back two side by side ones were hit for about 140K. I think it was in Cleveland circle?
