Police: Boy at Jamaica Plain school stabs two other boys over taunting

A 13-year-old from Jamaica Plain was charged with stabbing two boys in the gym at the Mary E. Curley School around 4 p.m. yesterday, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.

One victim, a 13-year-old from Jamaica Plain, needed four stitches in his left thigh. The other victim, 13 and from Roslindale, received three stitches in his calf.

According to the DA's office, the two victims were playing basketball with each other when they got into an argument with the alleged attacker:

At that point, the Jamaica Plain victim said the defendant had "a girly voice," allegedly prompting the defendant to pull out a knife and stab him in the left leg. The defendant then allegedly chased the Roslindale victim a short distance and stabbed him in the left calf area before fleeing the gym.

The boy, not identified because of his age, was arraigned today in West Roxbury District Court. Prosecutors asked for bail; a magistrate released him on his own recognizance after telling him to stay away from his victims and to refrain from picking up weapons.
