its really funny that the majority of the crime comes from dorchester, roxbury, mattapan basically black on black crime. But realy what do you expect from people who dont care and want to know how valuable their community is in the world. YES THEIR MIGHT BE A LIQUOR STORE ON EVERY CORNER BUT THAT ONLY FOR RESPONSIBLE PEOPLE.... ITS A SHAME AT ALL MOST EVERY CORNER STORE YOU CAN PURCHASE "THE CRACK STARTER KIT "I LOVE YOU GLASS TUBE ROSE"(EXAMPLE EACH PEICE BOUGHT SEPERATE) AND HEY YOU EVEN HAVE YOUR FAVORITE mARIJUANA ROLLING KITS "ROLL UP" AND ITS FUNNY LIQUOR COMPANIES MAKE YESS A KILLING ON THAT TO CUSTOMER.... "SNITHCHES GET STICHES, I APPLAUD BOSTON GET RIDD OF THAT TRASHY T SHIRT SLOGAN..... HOW ABOUT "911 AND THE MAYOR'S OFFICE TO SAVE MY COMMUNITY AND MAKE IT MORE SAFE AND PROPEROUS"...

They don't care about life. They want more cops and more protection, yet they blame cops for their problems and don't speak up if they are eyewitnesses to a crime. Even when it's one of their own friends/relatives, they don't say a word to the police. No one has any balls. They all carry guns because they can't even hold their own. Sure, blame white people, blame the courts, blame the state for all your problems...but when it comes down to it, they are digging their own graves. THEY are the cause of most of their own problems.

Im an african american myself and every time I pick up the Metro Paper and I see a shotting/stabbing I dont even have to read further because it will with very high probability be in either Roxbury or Dorchester. The irony is that Mattapan or "murderpan" is actually not that high on the list, it is actually the least violent of the three. With roxbury being the most likely to get shot place.

Most of the crime seems to be amount youth ages 15-23. I hope they understand that Boston/Massachusetts has some of the toughest gun laws in the country.

A boston lawyer quotes "Massachusetts has very strict gun and weapons possession laws. If you are in possession of a firearm illegally, you face a mandatory minimum eighteen-month house-of-correction sentence upon conviction. A Mandatory minimum sentence means that the judge has no discretion to impose a lighter sentence or to provide probation. The minimum mandatory penalties are heightened if you have prior convictions."

That means that they will be in prison, yes prison for at least a year and a half just for having a gun. If they fire a shot, attempt murder, or kill someone, it may be funny on that 50 cent cd, but they will get the mandatory life sentences, and probably never get to buy another 50 cent CD, and the rap community is laughing all the way to the bank.

The inner city schools are inferior to the overall public school system, so with that in mind, what do you expect from these young men? When you have teachers (and others) who expect you to fail, then that's what you're gonna do - FAIL! When young black men are not fairly educted and can't read past a middle or even elementary school level, when they have no other academic skills, what kinds of jobs do you expect these men to have? Low paying jobs are not an incentive when you can make some serious cheddar in the streets - let's be real. If you work at Wendy's and take home a few (and I mean few) hundred a week (if that), compared to clockin a few hundred a day - you do the math. As a young person, what's more appealing? The allmighty dollar, no doubt. And of course with that comes the wars and the crime. Instead of our brothers fighting for the highest paying legit job, they're fighting for the highest paying block and paying with their lives. These young men are raised NOT to care, and not just by a parent. A lot of times, the parents are so busy trying to work 2 and 3 jobs just to make the rent that they don't even know what's going on. Who's fault is that? Are these parents supposed to stay home and be broke or become homeless just so their kids don't become victims of the street? These kids are taught by their own educators, politicians and media not to care. How so? Because when you're in an environment where it's obvious nobody genuinely cares, how do you learn how to care? Now sit and think on that for a minute. Not to say that this applies to all, because it doesn't . . . some people just don't care, but let's not make that out to be the root of this problem of violence. The problem of violence results from an ignorance by ALL, not just the "young guns". Until we address the REAL problem of unfair education and unequal standards we will NEVER address the problem of violence. Until we as a society stop judging people by the color of their skin or the neighborhood they come from, the problems existing today will only get worse. Until we reach our youth at the youngest age possible and intervene at the pre-school level with positivity, forget about it. All the gang units in the city of Boston won't be able to stop this wave of continuing and worsening violence.

Teachers dont expect black men to fail. They want to see effort. They give up hope when students of any color fail to show interest in school. They can force him. The Boston School systems are good. Do you know how many attend Universitys afterward? Everyone is fairly educated. We do not teach children diffrently then children in other towns. We might not be fortunate enough to have a good budget. But education wise, these teachers all know how to teach the same. Yea and most parents do work and dont know what is going on... but then again there are those parents that stay at home all day on a welfare check while they know there 18 year old son is in his room with a 9mm bagging up drugs. What kind of parent is that? more or less What kinds of parents are these?
