Joseph N. Clarke, 23, of Dorchester, found shot in the head; pronounced dead at Boston Medical Center.

Globe: While he was out with his cousins about 12:30 a.m. yesterday, Joseph Clarke called his mother to make sure he was the first to wish her a happy birthday.

Rayon Gillespie, 23, of Dorchester, charged with Clarke's murder on Jan. 11.

R.I.P i heard the story of what happened to you and it almost made me cry from what i understand u was a good person a mamas boy and your life got taken over nothing wich proves how heartless these people are now an days

omg i feel like an idiot. all these months calling and calling your phone joe n no answer. i would neva think that this was the reason.

I knew something had to be wrong. I remember the days we would talk for hours while ur waiting for your best friend to come down stairs. you were such a sweet heart b/c u would wait for the longest time downstairs in ur car b/c u didnt want to go up with her to her brothers house. so we would laugh and talk until she came back
