Dorchester woman stabbed to death in her kitchen

UPDATE: Torres convicted of first-degree murder.

Melissa Santiago, 29, found face down in kitchen around 11:20 this morning at 689 Washington St.

Jose Torres, 26, of the South End, arrested on a charge of murder. Torres will be arraigned Monday morning in Dorchester District Court. Police say it was a case of domestic violence.

Santiago is Dorchester's tenth murder victim this year (Dorchester murder map).
