Robbery at knifepoint at Jackson Square T stop

Boston Police report arresting William Mejia, 18, of Roxbury, on charges of armed assault with intent to rob and assault by means of a dangerous weapon (a knife), after he allegedly tried to hold a man up outside the Jackson Square T stop around 8:30 p.m. yesterday.

According to police, the man was walking home when Mejia rode up to him on a bike, asked to use his cell phone and, when the victim refused, pulled a knife on him and demanded the phone. The man, however, managed to get back into the T stop to call police without being sliced.
