Seems somebody didn't get the memo about falling gas prices

Boston Police report arresting an East Boston man on charges of siphoning gas out of vehicles at a construction site at Byron and Coleridge streets around 11:40 last night. At least, police say, he used a pump, rather than sucking the gas through the clear tube an officer watched him throw away when police arrived.

Police say there have been several other recent reports of purloined petrol in the area.

Christopher L Wilson, 28, of East Boston, now faces charges of trespassing, attempted larceny from a motor vehicle and possession of burglarious tools.

Meanwhile, the Herald reports a city worker at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Mattapan helped himself for months to gas from the pump he was supposed to guard from pilferers - such as, oh, himself.

Innocent until proven guilty.

Ed. Totally Unrelated Note: Until I looked up the address on Google Maps, I had no idea there was a section of East Boston where all the streets are named for poets. Most cool; just like the composer section of Roslindale.

Yeah East Boston is all about the name groups. I especially like the bird names over near Eagle Square!

We drive by those streets all the time. But I just couldn't imagine living on Bobolink St. I'd crack up every time I'd have to give my address and the neighbors would look at me funny. So it's just as well we don't.
