How so?
02120 is South End?
Changed
I could say something about how real-estate brokers are always trying to expand the South End, but no, instead I'll just admit I goofed and accepted Channel 7's word for it instead of actually looking at a map.
W/E
Let's not go down this road again, sorry I brought it up!
The old Roxbury/Boston line
The old Roxbury/Boston line was near Melnea Cass Blvd. Slade's is borderline - I wouldn't be nitpicky either way. Zip codes are not definitive - just some Post Office guy's convenience.
Slades
I lived about 2 blocks up Tremont from there and my mail always got addressed to Roxbury Crossing, same as when I lived on the hill.
address
I live right next to Slades. The post office is Roxbury Crossing. Historically the neighborhood has been called Lower Roxbury. But the DND and most other City offices consider it South End.
Yeah, and yeah
Right, it's a little upfucked that we argue about what hood it is when that's not the important part. But since we do, the streets abutting Slade's have South End resident parking signs.
Can we just completely rename this area so we can appropriately tag these posts and get to discussing what's important? Anyone have any suggestions for what we should call it?

Get your priorities straight
Two people were shot and all you people can do is talk about whether or not the address is correct? Wake up people!!! Mayor Menino is doing a horrible job. On his watch: Firemen on drugs/alcohol, falsely collecting tax free retirement benefits at their supervisor's retirement rate; city streets full of potholes while street maintenance workers only work 3 or 4 hours a day; he allows school kids to run the streets hurting business; and...shootings, stabbings and robberies all over the city. This guy is a numskull, he is inept and he obviously can not do the job properly, get rid of him.
It's a terrible thing that people got shot
But it's also possible to have other thoughts floating through one's head. Doesn't mean we're all callous uncaring Menino minions.
Also doesn't mean that one can't point out that violent crime in Boston is on the decline and that people were getting shot long before Menino became mayor.
could have fooled me
Not until I mentioned it did anyone else comment on it. And, yes, it's true that shootings happened before Menino but he hasn't done anything to stop them (or any other problems in this city). If you ask me, the only reason the murder rate is down is because of the improvement of modern medical practices. People seem to be getting shot at about the same rate, their just surviving now.
Fallacious
Note: He said violent crime is down. He didn't say murder rate. Getting shot and surviving is still a violent crime.
Now I'm focusing on your use of logical fallacies.
And it's spelled "they're" not "their" in the context of your last sentence. Now I'm focusing on your grammar.
Look at that, those two people got shot and yet I'm focusing on other things like grammar and logic. I'm such a terrible person.
More like Facetious
I'm sure the people who got shot would agree with your self ASSessment. Thanks for pointing out that he didn't say the murder rate is down...but, if you really focused, you would have also noticed that I didn't say that violent crime was down. I said that I thought more people were surviving shootings because of the modernization of medical techniques.
Actually, the murder rate IS down
This year over last, but one year doesn't really make a trend, and if you look at the stats, what's happened is that murders are down dramatically in Area B (Roxbury) but up dramatically in Area C (Dorchester).
Latest year-to-year stats.
