Man shot to death in Roslindale

Boston Police report a 50-year-old man was found inside 710 Hyde Park Ave. with a gunshot wound around 1 a.m. today. He was taken to Brigham and Women's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The house is owned by a former leader of the Nigerian Advocacy Group for Democracy and Human Rights. Police did not say if there was a connection.

That explains the police activity this morning

Around 6am, the police blocked off the American Legion Highway heading towards that area. I guess this is why.

Boston Police report officers are going door to door looking for leads:

A preliminary investigation has revealed that the victim, a black male and 50 years old, encountered the suspect, who approached the victim's front door. The suspect is described as a light skinned black male could possibly be black Hispanic or Cape Verdean, 15 to 18 years old and wearing a blue jacket with white on the sleeves.
