Police: Chinatown shoplifter tried to needle store workers

Boston Police report that workers at the C Mart, 692 Washington St., somehow managed to detain a guy who began making "stabbing motions" with a syringe when a clerk confronted him about trying to steal fruit and vegetables. Police say officers found Steven Nguyen, 32, in possession of two hypodermic needles and charged him with armed assault with intent to rob and assault by means of a dangerous weapon (hypodermic needle).
