New Yorkers charged with abusing Boston hospitality

Boston Police report being called to the Omni Parker Hotel shortly after 2 a.m. on Monday to deal with a father and son who were allegedly ripping up the place:

Officers arrived on-scene and were informed by hotel security that two men were tipping over linen racks and pulling shelves off the walls. Officers were then led to one of the guest rooms where the two suspects were located. Officers confronted the suspects and were assaulted while attempting to place them into custody.

Michael Velten, 47, and Michael Velten Jr., 23, both of New York, were then given a shuttle ride to the Graybar Hotel, where they received new accommodations and vouchers good for a free trip to a local court for arraignment on charges of destruction of property, assault and battery on a police officer and resisting arrest.
