Police: It wasn't the pot that got the kid in trouble, but the gun that tumbled out of his pants leg

Boston Police report that when officers pulled over a car on Cummins Highway for busted brake lights around 10 a.m. on Monday, they "immediately detected a strong odor of burnt marijuana emanating from within the vehicle:"

Officers observed three occupants within the vehicle and asked the operator if they had been smoking marijuana. The operator replied, "Yeah, we just smoked a little while ago". The operator went on to state, "I don’t have anything one me but I can only speak for myself". The front seat passenger then stated, "I got a big bag of weed in my front pocket". Officers requested the front seat passenger to exit the vehicle. Officers then conducted a pat-frisk of the suspect and located a folding knife and a large bag of marijuana. Officers shook the right pants leg of the suspect, which caused a .380 firearm to fall to the ground.

Gerald Corzo, 18, was arrested on a charge of illegal possession of a firearm (police add the gun had been reported stolen in North Carolina). He was also issued a ticket for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

Innocent, etc.

Good thing he was stoned ...

Something bad might have happened!

1) pot makes you forgetful, so he might forget he had the gun and thus didn't use it
2) pot makes you laugh at massholes, rather than shoot them

In this case, I'd wager that stupid was a pre-existing condition.

Gerald Corzo, 18, gets jailtime on weapons charge

These kids carry weapons - guns and knives - becuase they have learned they need them. The trend is to carry knives instead of guns becuase guns involve mandatory jail time. This kid never got the memo.

Which brings up another question:

What the hell was the kid doing with the gun on him in the first place? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm under the impression that there's long been a law against carrying firearms here in the Bay State.
