Charlestown man stabbed fighting off muggers
Boston Police report a man was stabbed around 1:30 this morning by one of two muggers whom he ultimately managed to fend off. He's expected to survive, police say.
Police say the man had just gotten out of his car outside his Union Street home when two thugs approached and demanded his money:
One of the suspects produced a knife and threatened the victim. The victim fought back by striking the knife-wielding suspect with a nearby object. A struggle ensued and both parties fell to the ground. The suspect then stabbed the victim. The victim was then able to lock himself in his vehicle and continued to blow his vehicle's horn until the suspects fled on foot towards Austin Street.
