Roving gangs of thugs attack two in South Boston

Boston Police report two pack attacks on Wednesday night.

Around 8:52 p.m., a man reported being surrounded at 39 Telegraph St. by five or six black males, between 15 and 20, who punched him in the face, knocked him to the ground, then continued to beat and punch him before giving up and running away down Mercer Street.

Just nine minutes later another man reported being approached at 290 E St. by seven teen-aged black males in dark clothing who knocked him to the ground and beat him, then stole his cell phone before running toward West Broadway.

Robberies

It wasn't clear to me from the UH summary, but the Crime Log does seem to suggest that theft was the/a motive.

This is a small reassurance.

Real tough guys

Takes seven of you to beat up one guy, huh, hot shots?

I doubt that psychology

I doubt that psychology works on guys who'd attack in a pack like these allegedly did.

Besides which

It's unlikely these fellows are on teh UHubz. Or their friends.

They only come on here once one of their number is dead, to write some tearful illiterate screed full of capitals. You know, it's an appropriate memorial, kinda like cramming a cheap stuffed animal into a chain-link fence.

I was speaking of future

I was speaking of future non-UH encounters. When assaulted by such a group, I think it is not prudent to pick out an alpha and say, "Why don't you fight me like a man?" I think you'd probably be shot or stabbed immediately, or perhaps simply beaten to death by the pack. Amorality and sociopathy = cool.

It's it just horrible to

It's it just horrible to deal with all thoes white townie racists in southi... ohhh whoops.

On a serious note, this along with car/home theft is pretty much the worst we get in South Boston. With the economy going to shiat, it's been on the rise.

Youth Gangs

It is indeed very sad and a shame to see the lack of understanding on both fronts of the issues, not just in south Boston but in the nation as a whole, here's what I mean religion has clearly shown that it isn't the answer, politicians has clearly shown historically that they simply just don't care once they get in power. So as we can clearly see the magic word here is "Selfishness" and of course no moral convictions on anything whatsoever, mainly coming from society's leaders and society at large, so without me giving the impression that I'm justifying this type of behavior because I'm not, but we must look at this gangs problems objectively and realistically that how can we expect society's youth to behave? a lot of them coming from broken families. So we must be part of the solution instead of the problem and thereby mus see that the problem is a lack of spiritual and moral values in these young men/women roaming our streets and the need to pray and look for "GOD" in our lives.
