Police: Quincy thugs arrested after struggle in Mattapan

Boston Police report a duo wanted for an armed home invasion in Quincy yesterday were spotted driving down Blue Hill Avenue last night by an officer who, after calling for backup, began following their Ford Explorer:

Officers followed the Explorer as it traveled on Fessenden Street. The vehicle abruptly pulled to the side of the street and stopped. The female operator was ordered from the vehicle. Once she stepped out, she became aggressive towards officers and refused to obey their commands. Fearing the suspect was armed, Officers took hold of the suspect before she could re-enter the vehicle. A violent struggle ensued and officers were punched and kicked as a result. The female suspect was eventually placed into custody with the assistance of back-up officers.

Channelle Leathers, 23, of Florida, was charged by Boston Police with two counts of assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrested, possession of crack with intent to distribute within a school zone, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute within a school zone. Quincy Police charged her with being an accessory to armed home invasion. Lorenzo King, 45, homeless, faces Quincy charges of armed assault in a dwelling and felony assault and battery.
