Shoving a cop who's having your car towed away won't get you your car back

Boston Police report arresting a woman who objected rather strenuously to her car being towed away from Centre Street in Jamaica Plain for a variety of violations last evening.
Police charge that Abrigale Makkeeta Alford, 31, tried to get back in her car while a police officer awaited the arrival of a tow truck:
The suspect became verbally abusive towards the officer and ignored his orders to leave. The suspect continued to attempt to gain entry into the vehicle. The officer was pushed and struck by the suspect as he attempted to remove her from the vehicle. The suspect was informed that she was under arrest but she continued to resist his orders and refused to place her hands behind her back. Additional officers were called in order to place the suspect in custody. The suspect attempted to scratch the officers during the struggle. After being placed into custody, an amount of marijuana was located on her.
Final tally: Assault and battery on a police officer and disturbing the peace. Also, a civil citation for illegal possession of marijuana.
Innocent, etc.

OK, shoving the officer is not acceptable by any stretch of the imagination, but what are they thinking with not just giving her a ticket for parking there and letting her move her damn car? Isn't the aim to get the car out of there? She could move it faster than the tow truck, and for less of everyone's money.
Also, I wonder what sort of parking violation it was that actually got a cop to have it towed. When people park across my driveway so I can't get my car out and go to work, I call the cops and they don't ever show up or call back.

Unregistered or uninsured?

I think they'll always tow a car if the registration or insurance have expired. Maybe also if her license was expired or suspended or revoked, if there isn't another driver ready to take over for her. I don't think this was a parking ticket kind of offense.
the problem is that people

the problem is that people DONT move their car until the tow truck comes. I live in JP and people constantly park in crosswalks, bus stops, double park or park on the sidewalks. Tickets are obviously not working, towing is the only thing that will stop rich and poor alike from illegal parking. I dont like tow trucks either, so what I do is not park in crosswalks, bus stops, double park or park on the sidewalks. And I don't get towed.
And JP has plenty of parking, not always right in front of the liquor store in Hyde sq where everyone double parks, but a block or two away. Walk, it wont kill you.
Well, true...

The people who park in front of my driveway usually leave within about an hour or two. In that hour or two, the police have never showed up or called me back. So these people do leave before the tow truck shows up, but only because the tow truck doesn't freakin show up.
And yes, on Fort Hill too, there's plenty of parking. There are many many many parking spots that don't involve BEING IN FRONT OF MY DRIVEWAY.
Ms. Alford: Officer, I object
