Police: Man flags down cops to swing bottle of malt liquor at them

Boston Police report on an incident around 5:20 p.m. on Wednesday:

[T]wo members of the Orchard Gardens Safe Street Team were patrolling on Washington Street when a black male waved them down. Thinking this individual needed assistance, the officers approached and asked what they could do for him. The suspect then swung a 40 ounce glass bottle of malt liquor at one of the officers. The officer lifted his left arm in order to defend himself and was struck in the elbow. The suspect continued to advance forward, pushing the officer and continued to swing the bottle at him. The officers were able to take the suspect to the ground and place him into custody after a violent struggle.

Alonzo Pizzaro, 44, was charged with assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon (the bottle of malt liquor) and two counts of assault and battery on a police officer.
