Man charged with beating, robbing South End girlfriend

Or would that be ex-girlfriend at this point? Boston Police report the arrest of Jianfeng Chen, 47, on charges he escalated an argument with his girlfriend on Shawmut Avenue shortly before noon on Wednesday by beating her and then stealing her money, cell phone and keys.

Police say they caught up with Chen later in the day in Watertown and charged him with assault and battery and unarmed robbery.
