At least the victim didn't have to go far for treatment after he was stabbed

Life imitated TV this afternoon when a man was stabbed inside the Boston Medical Center emergency room, leaving him in critical condition, Channel 5 reports.

Imitating TV

By Jay Levitt - 10/26/09 - 7:50 am

I think nowadays it only counts as "life imitating TV" when either

(a) the ER has (for some reason) a huge interior plate-glass window and it is shattered, preferably by a vehicle or an assault weapon
(b) a helicopter falls off the roof, killing the obnoxious guy who lost his arm to that same helicopter

John Wells has really upped the ante on this.

it does raise the question

of whether ER's are safe places. When some of the patients are suffering from/committing violent acts, it's not a stretch to imagine retribution in the hospital. Courtrooms have bailiffs, (such as they are). Think a member of MS-13 wouldn't dare to try it?
