Dorchester woman shot at own party; in critical condition

A woman was shot outside her own party at 40 Glenway St. in a hail of gunfire around 1:20 this morning, Boston Police report.

The woman was only hit once, but that was enough to send her to Boston Medical Center in critical condition - and bring the police homicide unit. Police say witnesses reported numerous shots and that two parked cars were hit by stray bullets.

She was at least the third Halloween shooting victim in Dorchester. The previous afternoon, two men were shot on Norton Street, although they are expected to survive.

Not Uphams Corner

Norton Street is over a mile from Uphams Corner. That would be like saying the L Street Tavern is in Andrew Square (it's not).

You are, of course, right

Google Map Fail: When I typed in the address, it changed "Dorchester" to "Uphams Corner." I should have known better.
