See the comments of the last post for why EB is unfairly represented on UH's crime reports. In reality, EB is one of the safest neighborhoods, statistically speaking. Violent crimes usually happen between youth or people of the same race, and neighborhoods like the South End or Back Bay statistically have more car thefts, muggings, etc. (non-violent crimes) than EB.

I've lived here for 3.5 years and love it. Lots of cultural activities, great restaurants, and some of the best neighbors anywhere. Just have to represent!

Well, there's a big

Well, there's a big difference between non violent crime, and violent crime.

I live in South Boston and we don't have this weekly head punching, stabbing, or violent mugging going on. I haven't seen anything from the police blotters or news that would suggest the same about SE/BB.

Also read that police were worried about MS13 becoming more prevalent there a few months back.

Yes, it's still below historical averages, but in my view Eastie is having a small surge from a few trouble makers. Hopefully BPD can get it under control.

Don't be so sure

Take a look at the latest from C-6: Somebody fired shots into a group of people on Old Colony Ave., two people were stabbed on Orton Marotta Way.

I saw that report last night, will write it up soon - to be honest, I was burned out after writing up all the other violent crime in the rest of the city ...

Thanks for the post

Thanks for the post Adam,

The projects here promptly took my foot and put it in my mouth.

Still, I haven't seen this type of crime with the same frequency; Any, when there was almost none the last two years, is too much.

Anything good?

Does anything good happen in any neighborhood at 4 in the morning? One can presume, from the question that in "anon's" neck of the woods people pick up strangers, drive them to a diner, buy them breakfast, bring 'em home and tuck them into bed all snug. Or maybe they just bring home made egg sandwiches to the wanderers of the night. Sounds like a great place to live. Seriously, it's like kindergarten all over again. Don't talk to strangers, don't get into their cars.
