Charlestown man charged with armed holdup outside Roxbury Crossing T stop

Boston Police report arresting a Charlestown man in Roxbury on charges he tried to hold two people at the Orange Line station shortly after midnight today. According to police:
[The victims] were walking to the MBTA station when they were approached by the suspect who asked them where they were from. The victims responded that they were from Boston at which point the suspect responded, "I'm from North Carolina and need money to get out of here!" all the while holding his hands to his waistband as if armed. The suspect then ordered the victims to empty their pockets, took their property and walked away toward the MBTA station.
Police say they rushed down to the train platform and found Dwayne Jones, 32 of Charlestown:
Officers stopped the male matching the suspect description and soon thereafter learned that he was indeed the suspect when he exclaimed to officers, "Yeah, you gonna find their (property) in my pockets! I did it 'cause they were going to do it to me." The suspect continued to yell the whole time that he was being escorted to the police cruiser. At the cruiser, officers found a wallet with the victim's identification cards in his pocket along with two cell phones, a set of keys and a set of headphones all belonging to the victims.
