Man involved in Paul Pierce stabbing gets 30 years for trying to kill federal drug informant

Trevor Watson, 44, was sentenced to 30 years in federal prison last week by a judge who called him a terrorist for repeatedly stabbing a man working as an informant for the Drug Enforcement Administration.

A US District Court jury had found Watson guilty on federal witness-tampering charges for trying to kill a man outside Ann's Unisex, 996 Tremont St., on Feb. 27, 2010 - while telling the victim the knifing was for snitching about Watson's alleged coke dealing.

The US Attorney's Office in Boston reports that Judge William G. Young indicated his disgust with Watson at sentencing today:

The fact is, sir, that you are a terrorist. You are a domestic terrorist. What you did was to terrorize your community and attempt to murder another individual in broad daylight in an effort to put yourself beyond the law....you can run, but the law will find you...this is a just and fair sentence.

In 2002, Watson got a year in prison for his role in the near-fatal stabbing of Celtics player Paul Pierce in 2000 - but was acquitted of attempted-murder charges.

As part of their case for the barber-shop stabbing, prosecutors introduced letters Watson had written to associates while awaiting trial:

I had introduced my lawyer to the fact that if the victim in my case was to sign an affidavit saying I'm not the guy who stabbed him, it was some Spanish guy about 30, which I am not either, I'll be alright ... The Paul Pierce case was the same way, but at trial he changed his statements and I got found not guilty of att. mur.

Not entirely sure how he only received one year in prison for attempting to stab Paul Pierce back in 2002. One year? That's it?

The court system in Massachusetts disgusts me!

. . . likes to throw around "terrorism" does he? Interesting. Something to remember about this guy.
