Man surrounded, beaten into unconsciousness on East Boston street

District A-7 reports a man walking on W. Eagle Street by Meridian Street around 11:30 p.m. on May 5 was surrounded by seven men who:

[C]onfronted him and without saying a word, began beating him. He was subsequently knocked to the ground and kicked and punched rendering him un-conscious for an undetermined amount of time.

Now, all I really know of police work comes from various Law and Order episodes, but I think I detect some sort of pattern here. Are they thinking of running a cruiser regularly around the block on Falcon Street?

(Disclaimer: I recently lived not too far from that neighborhood, and my carefully considered opinion that if you want to clean the area up, regular patrols would be my Plan B, with Plan A involving some sort of neutron bomb. Which way would the fallout blow?)

Before I read your post, I thought to myself, "What they need to do is just firebomb the entirety of Eagle Hill," but I guess a neutron bomb would be just as effective.

Not an isolated event

In late winter or early Spring of 2008 a man was beaten up by a group of young adults in JP. They rob him; it was merely to wreck violence. Roving gangs now?
