Dorchester shooting leaves man near death

Boston Police tweet a man was shot in the leg and stomach tonight at Woodrow Avenue and Boyden Street and that the homicide unit has been called in.

The shooting is the latest in a small violent area.

Early yesterday, police made two gun-related arrests in the area, first on Winston Road, after shots were reported on Jacob Street, then on Irma Street, where a car spotted leaving the first incident was found. In both cases, suspects were arrested on charges of unlawful possession of loaded firearms.
