Two shot, one dead in Roxbury

Boston Police reports two men were shot shortly before 1 a.m. today at 44 Crispus Attucks Pl. in the St. Joseph development.

One victim, 27, died at Brigham and Women's Hospital. The other, 24, got himself to Boston Medical Center and is expected to survive.

where is the boston city council on this one? unemployment is still 9.9% and kids are being shot everyday but they are no where to be seen.... oppps forgot they were dealing with arizona.

Just because the Globe doesn't report it doesn't mean they're not doing anything. Look for something from Felix Arroyo, who was already working on youth issues.

And just because Universal Hub doesn't report it doesn't mean they're not saying anything. After Jaewon Martin's death, Tobin actually gave a fairly moving speech in the council chambers, which I heard, but never wrote up because I ran out of time, grr: Basically, he got caught in the Jackson Square traffic jam right about 20 minutes after Martin was shot, and it made him realize, he said, that this is really a citywide issue, not just confined to one neighborhood, even if people at the other end of his district really have no idea what's going on. But they should think about what if it had been their kid on a basketball court that day instead of Jaewon Martin.

Boston Police report he was Jefferson C. Johnson, 27, of Dorchester.
