Police: Drug dealer gives up accomplice in vain attempt to escape arrest
Boston Police report arresting an "impact player" who is "well known to police" on drug charges, but they can't name him because he's only 16.
Police say the kid actually flagged down officers by standing in the middle of Westmore Road in Mattapan and waving his arms up and down. He then ran into 31 Westmore Rd. and locked the door before his accomplice could get inside.
Police say they arrested that guy, Trevor Lawrence, 20, of Mattapan, after he gave officers reason to be suspicious (appeared nervous and kept reaching for his waist) and they frisked him and found a .32-cal Smith and Wesson revolver loaded with six rounds and a bag of cocaine.
They then turned their attention to the teen locked in the house. He wouldn't come out, so the SWAT unit was summoned, at which point police say he was "persuaded" to come out. He was arrested on charges of distribution of cocaine within 1,000 feet of a school and possession with intent to distribute marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school.
A woman to whom he'd allegedly been spotted selling cocaine to earlier will be issued a summons to appear in court. Police say an officer watched the transaction on Wellington Hill Street at Deering Road as part of an effort to deal with drug activity in the area of Deering and Blue Hill Avenue.
Innocent, etc.
