Milton teen charged with punching Hyde Park store clerk after giving lip, lifting scratch tickets

Boston Police report that when a clerk at Kelly's Liquors, 871 Hyde Park Ave., declined to sell Kimberly Chambers some cigarettes last night because she didn't like Chambers's attitude, the 19-year-old and her friend responded by grabbing some scratch tickets and attempting to walk out:

One of the store clerks followed the suspect in an attempt to stop her from leaving the store with the scratch tickets but the suspect assaulted the victim by punching her and scratching her on the wrist.

Police add that, for good measure, Chambers took a swing at a passerby who tried to break up the attack.

Police say they found her driving a car that had been reported stolen on June 17. She was then charged with assault and battery, shoplifting and use of a motor vehicle without authority.

Innocent, etc.

The scratch ticket grab is a nice touch. That, and the stolen vehicle.
