Cleveland Circle convenience-store clerk pistol whipped in robbery by caffeine addict

Holdup suspect Boston Police report the Tedeschi store at 1912 Beacon St. was held up around 5 a.m. on Friday by a gun-totaing, hoody-wearing white guy, four hours after the guy walked around the store, asked if it was open 24 hours and if the coffee was fresh.

Police say that the man started out the robbery by beating the clerk with the handle of the gun, then dropped it, then recovered it and forced the clerk to give him the contents of two registers. He ended by yelling:

Don't call the police or I will be back. Where's the f******* coffee?
