I wonder whether *all* of these are legit reports. People do sell their prescription meds, and claiming theft means they can get replacements.

A Dr will no replace sript for any reason. If so junkies could claim they lost their pills every month.

$900? And the combination of what was stolen is a bit odd, too. I'm not sure a single doctor prescribed those to be honest. I'm also wondering why they had all their pills on them at once, too, unless they are either homeless or just picked them up or were headed to the clinic for a medication review.

If the doc knows you well and knows why you have those prescriptions, and knows your history with such things and sees a police report, they may rewrite the script rather than have you suffer. I called in a request and my Doc filled it no questions asked even though the office policy required an appointment and a visit. That's because I've been her patient for 15 years and have a history.

I don't think we know what questions they asked, nor what all factors went into their assessment of credibility of the report.

And, if, heaven forbid, you ever need the help of the police but your report sounds implausible, don't you want them to be giving you the benefit of the doubt and taking you seriously?
