Pair arrested for armed cell-phone robbery by Berklee suspected in a dozen similar attacks
Boston Police report arresting two Dorchester teens on charges they held up a guy for his iPhone at Mass. Ave. and Boylston Street around 10:50 a.m. yesterday - and that they are wanted for a dozen similar stickups dating back to July in an area bounded by Mass. Ave., Newbury Street, Hemenway Street and Westland Avenue.
Police say yesterday's victim noticed the two guys walking toward him:
One of the suspects, according to victim, upon nearing him stood in front of him with his hand in his right pocket (as if armed with a firearm) and exclaimed, "Give me your cell phone or I'll shoot you!" The victim, not hearing the suspect, said "Excuse me!" at which point the suspect exclaimed, "Give me your phone!" An exchange took place between the suspects and the victim during which the suspects indicated to the victim that no one was around to help him and started counting down telling the victim that he would shoot him if he didn't hand over his cell phone by the time that the suspect finished counting down.
After they left, the victim contacted police, who issued an alert. About an hour later, police say, officers on patrol on Westland Avenue spotted Lamont T. Tracey, 19 and Arthur T. Willis, 19, and arrested them on charges of armed robbery and receiving stolen property after the victim identified them.
Innocent, etc.
