Stabbing on the West Broadway bridge at Frontage Rd
I'd like C-6 Boston Police show me where the Broadway Bridge is in South Boston? It was renamed a few years back and is now the James M. Kelly bridge for former Boston City councilor who passed away. C-6 Boston Police still call it the Broadway Bridge. It's not! They should call it by it's correct name.
it's the Broadway Bridge
Everyone I know calls it that. Maps call it that. It's been called that for over a century (although it has moved since the Big Dig). If you said "James. M. Kelly Bridge" in a news report nobody outside Southie would know what you were referring to.
(btw, not "West Broadway Bridge" either)
Little-known fact: the small street called Broadway in Bay Village used to run all the way to South Boston over this bridge.
James. M. Kelly was a racist
James. M. Kelly was a racist and I am embarrassed that a bridge was named after him in my neighborhood...but I guess it doesn't matter since no one knows the bridge has James Kelly Bridge and they call it the West Broadway Bridge.
Karma.

I'm not surprised you call yourself a South Boston yuppie ( i.e.; you are not from Southie originally). I am a relative of Kelly and I was born in Southie and raised there as a child. I am very much a liberal and a civil rights supporter but I still think you are being a punk calling him a racist like you know something about life.

Yes and I am proud of the fact I am not originally from Southie because that would mean I would be in some drug rehab program and be an uneducated high school drop out.
This is a huge problem area.
This is a huge problem area. In the past few months the amount of people just hanging out around here has increased so much that I won't walk under 93 to that bridge even in broad day light. There are constantly people screaming at each other across the road or just hanging out in the middle of the road. This a breeding ground for crime and more police presence is desperately needed.
Realy?
Rather than debating the name of a bridge why don't we discuss the police and there complete lack of attention to the drug and sex trade that thrives next to that bridge on an hourly basis. Boston police: when are you going to do something about this?
