Police: Pack follows guy out of Mattapan clothing store, jumps and robs him

Boston Police report arresting three teens they say were part of a larger group who followed a guy for more than half a mile before attacking him and taking his backpack.

Police say the victim walked out of a clothing store at 90 River St. yesterday afternoon to find about ten kids congregating outside:

[H]e was first approached by one of the members of the group who asked him about where he had purchased his jacket. The victim stated that after a brief conversation with one of the members of the group he walked away and started walking Cedar Street when he noticed that the group was still following him. According to the victim, near the intersection of Cedar and Manchester Streets he was jumped, assaulted and robbed of his backpack which had some other personal belongings inside of it. After the victim was assaulted and robbed, the group fled down Cedar St. toward River Street.

Police say they managed to round up three suspects. Daquille McCoy, 17, of Mattapan, and younger teens from Roxbury and Mattapan were charged with unarmed robbery and assault and robbery, police say. The victim was taken to Carney Hospital for treatment of bumps and bruises, police say.

Innocent, etc.
