Police: Screaming woman fends off would-be robber in East Boston

Boston Police report a woman who got out of her car on Sumner Street early this morning found herself tackled by a guy she'd noticed just standing there moments before:

The victim started screaming and successfully fended off the suspect who fled from the scene down Webster Ave. towards Webster Street.

Arriving officers found Juan C. Tejada, 17, of East Boston, about a block away. After the victim IDed him, police say, he was charged with assault with intent to rob.

Innocent, etc.
