South Boston man charged with armed holdup of Back Bay CVS

A South Boston man who allegedly hasn't had much luck lately shoplifting at the CambridgeSide Galleria decided to try his luck holding up a store across the river, according to Boston Police and the Suffolk County District Attorney's office.

Collin Wallace, 21, didn't fare much better last night, authorities say: He was arrested not long after he allegedly got away with a bag of cash from the CVS at 587 Boylston St. around 8:15 p.m., police say.

According to police and the DA's office, Wallace, clad in a green Celtics hoodie carrying a black backpack, motioned to three store employees as if he had a gun and demanded, "Put the money in the bag before things get ugly." He then fled with a plastic CVS bag full of cash. Police say they found him, still clad in the Celtics hoodie and with a plastic CVS bag loaded with bills stuck in his waistband, on Arlington Street. he ran, the cops gave chase and they caught him - although one officer slipped and injured his ear, officials say.

Wallace was arraigned this morning on charges of armed robbery and resisting arrest; he was held in lieu of $10,000 bail.

In July, Wallace was arrested on charges he tried to steal Blu Ray movies from the Best Buy at the mall. About a month later, he was arrested outside the mall again, this time on charges he tried to walk out of the Sears with DVDs.

Innocent, etc.
